Deliver and configure Avaya Aura telephone infrastructure equipment and services and solutions needed to support client telecom systems and environments.  Perform day-to-day moves, adds,  and  changes (MAC), configuration, service, and preventive maintenance


  • On-site support at client premises performing tasks such as telecom troubleshooting, software configurations, outside plant, cable terminations, rebuild and decommissions.
  • Physically install, configure and test telecom assets (i.e. VoIP, analog and digital devices) in telephone closets, Avaya telephone test bed, and customer installations.
  • Employ appropriate troubleshooting techniques for telecom performance issues.
  • Ensure the telecom and all related equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Perform telecom closet clean-up, and survey work area needed.
  • Utilize telecom IP monitoring software tool during maintenance windows to ensure that all monitored telecom equipment is functioning in accordance with our clients’ standards and SLAs, both before and after changes are made.
  • Complete work orders for moves, adds, changes (MAC) and deletions, and repairs for Avaya Aura Telephone service.
  • Ensure front-line customer satisfaction by dealing professionally and effectively with all internal and external customer/clients.
  • Receive, plan and prioritize jobs/work orders via centralized resource management in his/her territory on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate with other Team Members within Black Black and the client for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Complete required documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats according to company and client standards such as time reporting for billing and payroll, work order progress & completion, time and materials for client SLAs, etc.
  • Inform operations management regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with OSHA regulations.
  • Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items, as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations during normal business hours for the purpose of resolving immediate client concerns and meet SLAs.
  • Transport a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at client site.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Achieve performance targets established by leadership for applicable Key Performance Indicators.

Perform other duties as assigned by management or the client.


  • Associated degree or Certification ion a technology service/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years telecom experience as field service technician.
  • Minimum 3+ years of Avaya Aura System Administration.
  • Ability to perceive differences in wire and cable colors and differentiate between audible tones.
  • Industry and manufacturer specific certifications preferred (example: AVAYA Aura)
  • Advanced knowledge of critical infrastructure components such as copper plant, fiber cabling, labeling,
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting many of the following technologies:


  • Experience in using a laptop to set configurations on an Avaya IP Aura System. .
  • Strong customer/client service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, schematics,  and room layouts related to Telecommunications.  
  • Proven skills in reliability and dependability demonstrated through completing tasks on time and with minimal supervision, punctual and present for work, informing appropriate individuals when work will not be completed in agreed upon time frame.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely drive company vehicles.

  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on applications are required.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
  • Must be a US citizen with a valid passport

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying 35 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. To perform essential functions job is subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling.  Working conditions are primarily inside.
